Review:

Mission Impossible III

Country: USA
Year: 2006
Genres: Action, Heist

Action [5*****]

Action is the most important thing of this movie. It's meant to be action, blowing up things, shooting, guns, and cars. And using the modern method, it really pulls this off and with style. The fast-paced camera work and non-excessive use of violence gives a suspenseful experience that most can enjoy. This movie goes beyond expectations in the amount of suspense and cool-ness delivered. I don't think these scenes will age either.

Acting [4****]

The acting was excellent on most all parts. Some people were fairly prick-ish, but it was not distracting. My man from Capote comes back and does a great job as the bad boss here. He does what he says and doesn't have unnecessary hatred or sadism. One of the best bad guys in a Hollywood movie since Silence Of The Lambs. Tom Cruise is pretty good, a litte better than his normal roles.

Story/Purpose [3***]

Story was OK. Nothing to really care about, because it's not the focus of the movie. This keeps the film from being truly great than from basic Hollywood. You can't blame the movie for this though... no one expects there to be a message.

Overall [4****]

Hot chicks and fast cars. I really enjoyed this one. The action was so good... and went beyond what I expected. Not an art film or classic, but a great summer movie. Gives a great and fun movie theatre experience as well. Think of Dane Cook's jokes about heists while you watch it, too.
